AI Visibility for Local Businesses and Professional Services

AI visibility for a local business is how often AI engines name or link it when a customer asks them for its service in its town. Yogoo AI measures that one business and one market at a time, so a notary in London is counted against the other notaries AI names in London, and a salon in New York against the salons it names there. The result is your Yogoo Score, always shown with the counts behind it.

Yogoo AI checks up to five engines: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Not every market runs all five, so your page shows the engines available for your market, each on its own line.

What counts as a market for a local business?

Your market is your service in your town. Yogoo AI defines a market as one service, in one place, in one language, like “notary in London” or “hair salons in New York City”. Everyone in that market is competing for the same AI answers, so the score only means something inside it.

Each market gets a fixed set of about 20 questions, written the way a customer would ask an AI assistant. For a notary in London, a question written that way reads like “which notary in London can certify a document this week?” Once the set is built, it’s locked, so it can’t drift. When your score moves, the answers changed, not the questions.

A score in one market can’t be compared with a score in another. A salon in New York and a salon in Manchester sit in different markets, with different rivals.

How does Yogoo AI measure a local business?

Yogoo AI asks your market’s questions every day, on every plan, and reads each answer for your business name or a link to your site. An answer that recommends you by name counts the same as one that links to your site.

Each engine gets its own line because the engines don’t behave alike. In Yogoo AI’s 500-prompt study, which collected 8,695 answers about AI visibility tools on 10 and 11 August 2026, Perplexity cited a source in all 1,738 of its answers. Claude, run on Haiku 4.5 with web search through the API, cited a source in 71.2% of its 1,742. A single total would hide a gap like that.

To go deeper on one engine, there’s a page on how Yogoo AI tracks mentions in ChatGPT and Perplexity, and one on mentions in Google AI Overviews. The full method is in how Yogoo AI measures AI visibility.

What will I see for my business?

Your page shows your Yogoo Score with its counts, like “named or linked in 19 of 480 answers (4.0%)”, and a line for each engine in your market. Under it sit the counts that explain it, such as how many answers named you in the text and how many linked to your site.

Your score shows from the first answer Yogoo AI collects. Until 28 days of answers are in, the page marks it “Still collecting” and the number of answers behind it keeps growing. During that time, the percentage is an average across the questions answered so far, so it won’t always match the two counts divided. Once 28 days of answers are in, the score is the two counts divided. After that, the oldest answers drop out as new ones arrive, so the score keeps moving.

To see a change, compare two dated windows, like the 28 days ending 1 November 2026 against the 28 days ending 29 November 2026.

If none of the answers named you, the page shows 0.0% with its counts, like “0 of 480 answers”. That’s a real measurement: the answers came in, and none of them named you.

If Yogoo AI couldn’t collect an answer, your page shows it as not collected, and it isn’t counted for you or against you. If a Google search showed no AI Overview, that’s a real zero: the search ran, and there was no AI Overview to name you.

Who shows up in the rivals table?

The rivals table lists the other businesses named or linked in the same answers, each with its count, like “named in 41 of 480 answers”. For a notary in London, those are the other London firms AI named for the same questions. The table is on every plan, Free included.

AI visibility for professional services

For a notary or a law firm, the market is the service in the city its clients are in. Yogoo AI measures the firm against the other firms AI names for the same questions in that city.

Some firms carry a name that is just the service and the city. Yogoo AI can’t tell that name apart from a customer asking for the service, so it measures those firms on their web address instead. On purpose, the count comes out lower than the real number of mentions, never higher. For every other firm, Yogoo AI works out the names it goes by, like its site title and common variants. If the score looks off, you can refine that list in Settings.

What if my business has more than one location?

Each tracker covers one business in one market. A location in another town is another market, with its own questions and its own rivals, so it takes its own tracker, even when both locations share one website. A law firm with offices in London and Dubai tracks each office against the firms AI names in that city. Two branches in the same town sit in the same market, so they share one tracker.

What if Yogoo AI doesn’t measure my market yet?

Your page says “We don’t measure your market yet” and shows no number and no zero. Press Find my market and Yogoo AI reads your site, works out what your business does and where, and checks whether it already measures that market. If it does, your tracker joins it. If it doesn’t, the screen shows your request with the date it was sent for review, and Yogoo AI emails you if it adds your market.

Each market is built on purpose, with its own fixed questions, so adding one is a decision rather than a queue. It says nothing about your business.

What’s free for a local business?

Everyone in a measured market gets these on a free account, with no card: their Yogoo Score with its counts, the counts under it, a line for each engine, a sample of the questions buyers ask AI, and the full rivals table. Yogoo AI collects your market’s answers every day on every plan, so the number is the same whichever plan you’re on.

Paid plans add capacity and workflow. Basic covers 2 trackers and Pro covers 6, one business and market each. Paid plans also show every question with each engine’s full answer, and Pro adds AI content recommendations that say what to publish for the questions where AI answers didn’t name you. Plans refresh the dashboard on different schedules. See pricing for each plan.

If you run an agency with local clients, AI SEO tools for agencies covers one tracker per client market.
