Track Your Brand in Google AI Overviews
Yogoo AI checks whether Google AI Overviews mention your business when people search the questions buyers ask in your market. It also shows which rivals Google mentions instead. You get a Google AI Overviews line under your Yogoo Score, with the real numbers behind it.
What does Yogoo AI track in Google AI Overviews?
Google AI Overviews is the AI answer engine built into Google Search. It’s the AI summary that shows up at the top of some Google results.
Each market comes with about 20 questions buyers actually ask. Yogoo AI searches every one of them on Google twice a week. Each time, it notes four things:
- Did Google show an AI Overview?
- Did the overview name your business?
- Did it link to your site?
- Which rivals did it name?
The questions don’t change. So when your Google AI Overviews line moves, it’s because Google’s answers changed.
How does Google AI Overviews count toward your Yogoo Score?
Your Yogoo Score answers one question: out of all the answers Yogoo AI collected in your market, how many named or linked your business? Google AI Overviews is one of up to five engines in that score. The others are ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini. Each engine counts the same, and each one gets its own line.
You’ll always see the numbers, never just a percentage. A line reads something like "named or linked in 61 of 480 answers (12.7%)".
Your score shows from the very first answer. For the first 28 days it’s marked "Still collecting", and it reads like "19 of 480 answers in a full 28-day window (4.0%)". The Yogoo Score page has the short version.
What if Google doesn’t show an AI Overview?
That’s a real zero. Google answered the question, and its answer didn’t include you.
A missing answer is different. Sometimes Yogoo AI can’t collect an answer at all. When that happens, your page tells you, and that answer is left out of the count. You’ll see how many answers couldn’t be collected, right next to how many searches showed no AI Overview.
No overview means Google answered without you. Missing means Yogoo AI never got an answer to read.
Is Google AI Overviews tracked in every market?
Not every market gets all five engines. Some run three. Your page shows only the engines your market uses, each on its own line.
If Yogoo AI doesn’t cover your market at all, your page says "We don’t measure your market yet." You’ll still see your counts. Yogoo AI has read your site and noted your request. It adds markets one at a time and will email you if yours is added. Until then, there’s no benchmark for that market on any plan. That’s about the market, not your business.
Which rivals show up in Google AI Overviews instead of you?
Your page includes the full rivals table. It lists the businesses named in your market’s answers, so you can see who gets mentioned when you don’t.
How do I see what changed?
Compare two 28-day periods that don’t overlap, like the 28 days ending 1 November 2026 and the 28 days ending 29 November 2026. Yogoo AI shows them as two numbers side by side, each with its counts.
Don’t read much into a single day. The same search can bring back a different overview from one day to the next.
What we saw in 1,735 Google AI Overviews answers
For Yogoo AI’s 500-prompt study, Yogoo AI collected 1,735 Google AI Overviews answers from live Google results pages on 10 and 11 August 2026. The prompts were about AI search and visibility tools, branded ones included. On average, each answer cited 7.64 sources.
Leaving out AI visibility tool vendors, the sites Google AI Overviews cited most were youtube.com, reddit.com and linkedin.com, followed by zapier.com and hubspot.com.
Other engines lean on different sources. No site was among the 10 most-cited for all five engines in the study, which is why your page gives Google AI Overviews its own line beside the total. The study’s other four engines were ChatGPT, run as GPT-4o-mini + web search (API); Claude and Gemini, both run through their APIs with web search on; and Perplexity.
What’s free?
Every plan, Free included, shows:
- your Yogoo Score and all the counts that go with it
- a line for each engine in your market
- the full rivals table
- a sample of the questions buyers ask AI
Paid plans add more room and more tools: more trackers, a dashboard that refreshes more often, the latest AI responses for each question across the engines in your market, and content tools. A paid plan doesn’t collect more answers or change the number. You can compare Yogoo AI plans and pricing side by side.
Questions about tracking Google AI Overviews
Is Yogoo AI an AI overview tracking tool?
Yes. Yogoo AI is an AI overview tracking tool, and it also tracks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini. So Google AI Overviews sits next to the other engines in your market, not in a separate report. If you mostly care about the chat assistants, see monitoring brand mentions in ChatGPT and Perplexity.
Can I track AI Overviews for my own keywords?
Yes. Open a keyword to see the AI questions behind it, then switch on the ones you want to follow. The AI keyword tracking page explains how keywords and AI questions connect.
Do Google AI Overviews show the same answer every time?
No. Search the same question twice and the overview won’t always match. That’s why Yogoo AI searches each question twice a week and counts every answer, instead of judging your business on one search. There’s more on why AI answers about a brand change from one day to the next.
